X3: scratchy playback after reinstall

Hi all,

I just put a brand new hard drive in my laptop and had to install OS (Windows 7/64) and Sonar X3 from scratch, along with my interface.  It's an Tascam US600 and it's always performed great for me.

But when I open up X3 and arm a new track or play back an existing one, the playback is very scratchy and broken up.   The Tascam shows up just installed just fine in Device Manager (no errors) and I have my Recording and Playback set to ASIO just like it has always been.      Just curious what troubleshooting steps I can take?

I should also say that standard Audio playback like ITunes or Youtube is just fine through the Tascam 600. It's just Sonar that sounds broken-up.

With a clean reinstall you will have to check SONAR preferences to set things back to what they were prior to reinstall. Audio setup and buffers especially.

Also check Windows sound card options to make sure the two "exclusive" options are not checked. While in there, also set the bit depth/sample rates to what you typically use in SONAR. A sample rate mismatch can cause funky behavior.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.
