Fishman Triple Play...MIDI Guitar controller

I'm just getting the controller working with Arturia soft-synths on my DAW, and it's everything I expected it to be.  I can also expect a few crashes, but I can live with it.
What strikes me is how close, yet how far away, it is from perfection.  I believe the technology is on the market, for a hefty price, to extend this rig's capabilities to completely emulate a keyboard controller.
That being said, does anybody have an opinion on how the industry would be affected by the release of such an upgraded product?  For instance, will the "Keyboards" sales by music retailers be affected.  It would be interesting to know.  This is a fine piece of equipment.

I really like mine even though I have a crash dump problem nobody else in the entire world has.  With 3 different hosts even!

Using it with Sonar without the plugins is the way I use it most often.  I got it because I'm a guitar player, but I doubt I'll give up my keyboard/controller.

I went for a search and get back to square one.. I do finger picking and the Fishman did not track well. Going back to pick and it did a great job. Also tried the yourock guitar which tracks slightly better for finger picking. I'm still finding ways to use these in the future, for now it's back to actual guitar/bass playing / recording.

What is missing from the FTP to completely emulate a keyboard controller?

I have an FTP, but don't use it, I use a GR-55 for gtr to midi and it works fine for me (I don't find much difference between the two for gtr to midi). The new Boss SY-300 is really something for analog style synthesis for guitarists - no latency, glitch free, polyphonic, and no hex pickup required, but it doesn't do gtr to midi.

I am finger picker and mine works fine for me. Like was said, don't use the software in Sonar.

    It's Bass, not Bass.
