Midi CC for pVR?

Hi Everyone

iam wondering if someone can help me ,

on a track in Pvr on C4 and C#4 i have 2 keyswitches for changing sounds on g-player  , i want to find out what the midi CC is for c4 and c#4 so i can write in midi text in sibelius .

when i open az controller and hit those 2 keys it shows

Ch:1 N:67
Ch:1 N:68   however these are not CC numbers or are they.

is there a way to find the CC midi numbers for these 2 keys in pvr or any way to assign CC to the 2 keys ?

Any help is appreciated thanks

I do not really understand the question (not even what is pVR), so sorry in case I miss the point completely

"Ch:1 N:67" means "Note On" MIDI event. C4(C#4) are notes if I understand correctly, so they map to "Note" MIDI events nicely.
MIDI CC is a different type of MIDI messages. There is no "CC for note C4", but for example there is "CC for volume control".

basically iam trying to connect to to keyswitches in piano roll view via midi cc,

so say keys c4 and c#4 on track 1 are my keyswitches , iam trying to send a signal from sibelius to sonar to trigger the keyswitches

now i can connect sonar to sibelius no problem  i just need midi CC numbers for those 2 keyswitches in PRV so i can put them into sibelius and im done .

So is it possible to get Midi CC for any keys in any track inside sonar in the piano roll ????

    Regards

In general, "keys" in PRV are notes. And notes have no associated CCs, they are MIDI Notes.
PRV also shows CC (Controller Changes) separately.

May be someone with g-player can help you to find working solution for changing sounds there.

I think he's saying that on the virtual keyboard for his soft synth there is a key switch that takes place. When he presses the virtual keyboard key C4

I think he needs to find out what midi message is sent when that key is pressed.

My interpretation is that he tries to find the way to switch sounds in G-Player from Sibelius. And if I get the idea right, he has defined "switches" in G-Player on some channel (comming from the track one) and he tries to send something from Sibelius to trigger these switch.

But since I have no expierence with Sibelius nor with G-Player, I can not spot the problem...
It can happened that Sibelius can not send Notes but only CC (is it true? I mean it can for sure sends Notes from stam, but as "special" events?). It can happened G-Player has no CC support for switches (is it true?). Or it can happened that he is just looking for MIDI code for "Note C4" (but it should not be N:67 then, so puzzled) in the acceptable for Sibelius form. So, I still have too many undefined variables to propose a solution for this equetion

Keyswitches in the PRV are notes, not CC messages. In Sibelius you can also use note keyswitches through a user defined soundset. I think that may be what you need to do.

Thanks for the replies , yes in g-player i have found someways of connecting
i.e 1) program change ,2)CONTROL CHANGE ,3)key switch which is no good for what i want to do ,4)Velocity which iam sure will work fine HOWEVER i am not sure if i use this if it will interfere when notes in sibelius are played in different dynamics? ,5)Random which sounds to out there for me .
So control change in g-player and a midi envelope on my track in sonar and she works fine .

However iam glad i asked this question so i can dive a little deeper into sibelius

In Sibelius you can also use note key switches through a user defined sound set

I have created manual sound sets in sibelius and done some reading in the manual on what your suggesting  , and would love to use this feature ,

Can you point me to the page in Sibelius manual or better still post some quick steps on achieving this please? As this would be much more useful for me .

    Regards
