IS DRUMCORE 4 EVER GONNA BE RELEASED???
I bought BFD3 almost 2 years ago because I was sick of waiting for Sonoma Wire Works to get off their butt. What is their major malfunction? I would STILL like to get it. Anyone have any insight?

Yes...Sonoma Wireworks has been following IK's SampleTank 3 business model... Promise it for years...and years....and years...and then deliver a product and tout it as "years in the making" after you spend only a few days (or hours even) writing a new interface...it's a great model! You can even raise the price of the Product based on the fact that you s c r e w e d your customers and it took you so long to get it out!  Works Great! Oh the anticipation!

I'm not. I deleted Drum Core off my system. There was nothing unique about it other than it still being 32 bit.

At the rate they are going, I'd be shocked if there was a windows version this time next year or ever. Took them a year to get through 3 levels of beta.

In the year 2015, I couldn't think of anything that would hurt your credibility more than having a 32 bit only program and you can't get the 64 bit to market when people are begging to give you their money. Didn't some people prepay too? I feel for you guys. When you spend your money on software you are making a commitment, especially if there are expansion packs you buy. You don't want to throw it all out and start over spending money on something else.

Exactly! I think Cakewalk Soundcenter came out in 2012 with X1 and was and still is 32 bit only. I would use it and maybe get some sound pack for it but its 32 bit. Who are they making it for at 32 only?

It will be 8 years since Drum Core 3 was released by the time DC4 is out. In the future I'm dumping any software that gets bought out. It's not just that I think they owe the users anything new but anyone who is all 64bit has not been able to use their already purchased software for years. That's what gets me.

They posted an update in their forum yesterday. I check every now and then for kicks. They claim Mac Beta 5 is almost ready. Then a wider release beta, then Mac release candidate and then 4 weeks for the windows port. Let's see if the Windows version is released before this time next year. I doubt it.

Only because I find it semi amusing, I check the drumcore forum every now and them. So the latest is that Mac beta 5 was released to some beta testers yesterday. This _may_ become the release candidate. Once the Mac version is released, the Windows port is is another estimated 4 weeks.
Sonoma also may throw in a bridge with the Windows version :)

I should have got my money back over a year ago when offered. But I waited, at least I gives me something to moan about. I am just getting the lite version mainly as a 64 bit player for my existing Kitcore content. In the past two years I have acquired more drums making it less relevant. ( but the Luis Conte kits are still my goto for Latin percussion.)

That's what I'm thinking too, Glyn. I bought BFD3 a couple years ago while waiting for DC4. But I still love Kitcore and have purchased some kitpacks that I love(especially the Matt Cameron pack). I think I'll just get the lite version now, just to have a 64 bit player.

I get the sense that they are 2 person company (husband and wife) who outsources development. There is no way a dedicated full time resource could take this long.
