Audio interface suggestions?

I'm considering buying a new audio interface and wondered if you guys had any recommendations. I need a minimum of 14 XLR mic pre inputs, preferably 16. I'm currently using two Roland VS700R interfaces controlled by a VS700C control surface. Not sure if I need an interface that's faster/more efficient than these, but since my last Platinum update (Foxboro) I have crackles and pops that neither I or Cakewalk support can seem to figure out. Went through all the normal defrag, uninstall drivers, re-install drivers, check AUD INI, etc. Now I can't record with a latency of less than 28 ms without pops constantly. Gotta do something... Getting ready to install a Solid State hard drive to replace my Sata2 tomorrow.

Hi. It would help to know your budget.
You might be looking for a (digital with ADAT or the likes) mixer instead of a "simple" audio interface.
If not, you might be in the market for a multiple (or two) preamp(s).
    Best of luck.
Or two of these, perhaps http://www.rolandus.com/blog/2013/01/21/new-product-studio-capture-16x10-audio-interface-with-12-mic-preamps/

Sure, no budget, really. Probably like to keep it under $2500, though.

Have a look at Antelope. Zen Studio + MP8d would probably set up up just fine. Alternately grab an Orion32 and an MP32.

Alternately, if you have some money to spend go with separate conversion and pre-amps (that's what I did). More colors to play with and more flexibility that way.
