I discovered why I like scenes = mix recall

Not that I didn't like them before... :-)

I've been using scenes to branch a mix and let the branches diverge. That works fine as long as I remember which branch I'm looking at. My old workflow of making project backups still seems valid.

But last night, I found a great use case that I will keep using!

I had a friend over... we start a project, drop in addictive drums a couple of audio tracks for guitar, midi with synths, pick a tempo and play.

I have a touch screen so we can both adjust our sounds as we go. Then we tackle the first tune.

After the first tune I touch the save scene button. Then save new scene.

Now, we change th2 sounds, we change synths. We change drum kits. We change tempo, and then tackle another tune.

Save scene. New scene... do it again.

At the end of the night we have fifteen songs in the same project with synth settings, th2, drums etc all saved as they were when we tried the songs.

Rinse and repeat.
