Crazy. Does the behavior change if you enable track icons? Or show the Inspector?

Also, do you get the wrong tooltip (or none at all) if you hover over any the mute button?

No difference either way or combination thereof.
Same behaviour on two completely different systems...

Looks like you're using non-default mouse settings. If so, can you try reproducing with those reset?

No change (the mouse pointers that I was using was a Microsoft extra large system scheme).

After Ctrl+ A to select all tracks and time, clicking on a track number to select or deselect it does nothing...
Frustrating, especially when it's working fine for those who tested...

Pretty sure it's not registering the mouse click in the right location. Though your results of the few tests I asked for don't confirm that. We should schedule a call for tomorrow. I'll send you an email.

Thoughts out of the blue... Probably none of them however..

1) When starting a new project make sure it's a blank, i.e. No template.
2) Try a different screenset. Try reverting a screenset.

3) Longshot.. Try deleting your picture cache.
4) Remove any third party mouse software (not drivers).
5) Disable antivirus/malware protection - might have an antikeylogging app.

I see I have a number of posts to read through since my last in this thread...

But for the moment I just want to post that I just updated my DAW and tested this and all is well there too (I rooted my wn8 laptop running fine earlier)...

My DAW is running on win7Pro x64 under bootcamp on a MacPro...

I can drag the timeline to select the time range, then select the tracks to include and my exported fle is exactly what I expect...

Individually via ctl-click or click-dragging over the track numbers...

Yeah. You can't tell what's going on in the first video cos it's off screen. But in the second video when he clicks on the track number the number doesn't highlight.

Bob, it's working here as expected.

But I did notice that when I click on a number to add to the selection, it doesn't light up until I scroll the veiw up or down.
Try that and see if you get the same results.

Breakthrough!!!
If I click on the absolute left most edge of where the track number will be highlighted, I can select multiple tracks like before, it seems that the hotspot of the track number is reduced to only about one or two pixels wide...

So, really focusing problem. That can also explain why you could select in previous version: while clicking on "empty space" the click was transfered (shifted) to the "number" area.
I hope CW can find out why you have that shift and either it is Sonar related.

Since the problem exists when I rebooted and tested in Win 7 safe mode, I would think that it is Sonar related and not hardware driver related.

Screen resolution probably doesn't matter since the issue exists in Win 7 safe mode too which changed the resolution.
Not at home to give the exact resolution but the problem exists on two different systems which both run at different resolutions.
Keep in mind, this morning I discovered that the clickable track number didn't shift, it decreased to 1 or 2 pixels wide horizontally.

Hi Bob,

Thank you for your video. I was able to determine the problem and there is a work-around. After launching a project in Sonar go to the Views menu - Icons - Track View  and enable "Show in Header". This should restore your ability to select tracks in the Track View.

It appears the lack of icon in the header is offsetting the selection area for the control. This is indeed a bug and I've reported it to our developers. In the meantime, showing the icon in the track view strip should fix the issue for you.

Thanks for your patience and providing the information we need to solve the issue!

Thanks!

I have win 7 but I am in the middle of a big rush project.  I use this feature all the time.  I always highlight a range in the timeline and then click on different tracks and the selection follows the track.  I am sure it will get worked out. No biggy just holding out until Heimlich update.
