Jam Origins MIDI Bass Updated

Currently stand alone only, no plug-in. Link to full email announcement http://us6.campaign-archi...5def2&e=479d752b29

MIDI Bass update

We've just released a major update for bass players. Its a free upgrade for all current MIDI Guitar license holders and free to try for everyone else.

MIDI Bass is now based on the new MIDI Guitar v2 tracking engine and inherits its state-of-the-art responsiveness and latency.

Unlike the guitar version MIDI Bass is monophonic only for now, however. This means you’ll have to be careful not sounding more strings at once. We’ve been working hard on a duo-phonic solution for bass and its promising, but still needs a little polish.

Other than bass tracking and the blue color, this should be identical to MIDI Guitar 2.
More MIDI Bass beta releases will follow and VST and AudioUnit versions will be available soon.

Next up is pitch bends and custom tunings for MIDI Guitar 2. An iOS update is on the way as well!

DownloadMIDI Bass is available for everyone at our downloads page.

It is a major improvement. Hopefully the plug-in will work better than the original. I could not use it at all. Glad they mentioned the plan to add pitch bend next for MIDI Guitar. It is a welcome return feature.

My expenditure limit has been met for July-August. I'll probably pick this up in September.

By "this" I hope you mean MIDI Guitar. Since MIDI Bass is still in Beta maybe you can convince them to throw it in if you purchase the current production MIDI Guitar. I cannot imagine buying MIDI Bass unless I only had access to a bass.

Yes, MIDI Guitar was to include MIDI Bass unless they changed that.

I also got the email, but haven't installed it (I suppose I need to have a bass guitar first to make use of this). I'm also looking forward to the pitch bend functionality......we guitarists do need that bending/vibrato "feel" for maximum expression.

Scook or anyone else, what are your favourite bass libraries you use that get the best response/tracking/sound etc...? (I'm a bit partial towards NI's Scarbee Jay-Bass, but still looking for others).

Are you saying you use your own recorded bass sounds when using Midi Guitar?

The only bass samples I have came with SONAR. I have played with a few but prefer to record my own.
