Inserting Audio and Midi Tracks in Console View has changed ?
I'm noticing that if you right click on a track header in Console View you can still insert Audio or Midi tracks. However, if you go to the top menu in Console View and click on "Insert" . . . "Audio Track and Midi Track" are now greyed out. In Track View, you can still go to the top menu and insert both Audio and Midi tracks. Is there a reason ? Couldn't we do this before Gloucester update ?

I have Gloucester installed, and don't see any place in the Console view top menu to click on "Insert." What I see is "Track," and the ability to insert an audio track, MIDI track, or insert from track template, all of which work. Similarly, by clicking on "Bus," I can insert a stereo or surround bus. Of course you can also insert from the top project menu bar. Where do you see the "Insert" menu in console view?

If you look up the track view, click appear menu and choice it. If you want to view the cosole view that is comed by there,If not is your console view is behind the track view, so you must dorag and drop under bar of the view. And then the console is appeared and both track and cosole view is in window by doing it.

Hi Craig . . . it's strange, I'm talking about the very top menu bar (the standard windows menus) . . . File Edit Views Insert Process etc. . . . But also . . . now that I look closer into this . . . Below the top menu there are some other Sonar menus . . . Modules Strips Track Bus Options In Console View when I click on the lower menus "Track" . . . both "Insert Audio Track" and "Insert Midi Track" are greyed out. Do I somehow have customized menus ? . . . because it seems you don't see the same thing.

Hi Grandcross, I'm sorry I don't quite understand wording in your response. "If you look up the track view, click appear menu and choice it." . . . can you explain further ? Don't see a track view appear menu ?

If they're grayed out, that means that for some reason, SONAR doesn't think it's possible to add these tracks. I don't know why that could be, as I haven't experienced it. Just for kicks I turned off the audio interface thinking that might cause the issue, but it doesn't. Sorry, but I don't know why it would happen...so I can't suggest a fix. All I can think of is the standard "reboot Windows and try again."

OK, think I have this figured out. I run Sonar with my window settings adjusted such that the Console View is not in a floating window. This way I can toggle between Console View and Track view by using Windows command Ctrl + Tab Apparently, this does have an effect on the Sonar menu bars. And, this has not changed with the Gloucester update . . . I rolled back and Foxboro was the same regarding this. Still not sure why the floating windows setting should affect inserting audio and midi tracks in Console View, but I guess it still works by right clicking on the Console View track header.
