[ANSWERED] shift+D thing...

Hi Peeps

I'm still messing around in my SPlat test project. There's lots I like so far, but one thing I don't fully understand is why does maximising the MultiDock, by pressing shift+D not stay that way.

I've just checked my keyboard shortcuts to make sure there's something I am missing here...

So,

D is used to Show/Hide MultiDock

shift+D is used to Maximise/Restore the Tabbed View

I am on a single monitor and I have my Tabbed View docked at the bottom.

My Console View is my first tabbed view.

I generally switch between Track View and Console View by hitting D. In X2, the Tabbed View (or MultiDock... are they not the same thing?) sometimes stops filling the entire screen (un-maximised?). This happened more often than not when pressing F11 (Full Screen), and so I would press shift+D to maximise the Tabbed View again.

What is happening in SPlat, is each and every time I bring up the PRV or Step Sequencer View for a clip, while in Track View, it does not maximise the tab any more, even though the last time I was in Console View it was maximised.

So, in SPlat, I am having to press shift+D a lot more than I would do in X2.

Minor gripe, and, as I said, I might be missing something.

cheers

andy

I can reproduce that in SPlat. If it worked as expected in X2, I suggest you report it via Problem Reporter.

Okay... I think I'll do that.

by the lack of responses in here though, I could be wasting my time with that one...

I don't know Jonesey... I don't use Screensets at all to be honest... My methods are very simple indeed, just needing to toggle between Track View and my Tabbed Views.

I'll have a look at that now...

Jeebers!

Sorry Peeps... Mr Jones has the answer...

Because I don't use Screensets at all, I had forgotten to lock my main Screenset. I had obviously done this in X2, a couple of years ago now, and I had forgot all about that.

Again... Apologies for that, and thanks for the help

I reproduced it in the Normal project template in SPlat with no Screenset locked.

Oh, ok, so you mean what we thought was an issue in SPlat was actually a default behavior even in X2.

I just checked in X2, and having the main Screenset locked or unlocked did not affect the behaviour I am referring to in the OP...

I'm now not sure what issue you meant in the OP then. You said you switch between Track View and Console View by hitting D, but hitting D alone can't switch between the views AFAIK. What I can reproduce in SPlat whether the Screenset is locked or not is this:

1. Open new project
2. Drag MIDI file into TV
3. Maximize MultiDock (CV or PRV)
4. Hit D to collapse it
5. Double-click the MIDI clip to open PRV (expand MultiDock) again

I expected the PRV to appear in the maximized MultiDock, but it only half opened.

Tak T.

You said you switch between Track View and Console View by hitting D

Hitting D toggles between showing and hiding the MultiDock.

I have Console View in the MultiDock, so I am able to switch between Track View and Console View by hitting D.

Yeah, I never have to use shift + D, just hitting D alone toggles between the 2 view states

I actually use Shift+D a lot since I often want to see both TV and PRV at the same time (to do clip editing and notes editing at the same time). I'm glad a Shift+D issue (in which hitting D and Shift+D a few times used to initialize the height of the MultiDock) was fixed in.....Braintree IIRC.
