Need recommendation for new MotherBoard--mine died

My Gigabyte GA-p67a-UD5-b3 mother board suddenly died.  So I am getting a new CPU (4790k) and need a reliable, stable motherboard.  I really don't want another Gigabyte;  I have been looking at ASUS and ASRock options.  I will not be pushing extremes in Overclocking, but do want to optimize the 4790k a bit.  I do lots of VSt' softsynths, but not video.

Looking for an ATX size.  Will be using my Noctua  DH-14 that I already had on my other now dead MB.

What do you guys recommend for stability reliability longevity?

One other question:  I had reserved Windows 10 on the now dead MB; so I will not be getting that one that was reserved.  I plan on buying Win 8.1.  If I buy 8.1, will that make me eligible for a free upgrade to Win10?  (I don't want to get Win10 yet because I have heard Steinberg recommend waiting).

Thanks for the help.  I really need your expertise!

I'd recommend the Asus Sabertooth Z97, if you're looking for something bullet-proof.  Can't go wrong with these boards.  I've never had much luck with Gigabyte personally... My last gigabyte board died within 3 years.  :(

I always end up going back to Asus, as I've never had one fail me.

As for Windows - Yes, 8.1 buyers are eligible for a free upgrade to 10 until July 29th, 2016.

I have a asus z87 sabertooth and it's been pretty darn great. Would definitely go with Asus again.
