Opening SPlat project in X2

I just tried opening my current SPlat test project while in X2, just out of curiosity.

I got a warning message saying that some features may be lost, but other than that, the project opened okay and played as expected.

This is good to know... Just in case

Be aware that X2 also does not support VST3, so you don't get confused by "missing plugins" that were VST3. X2 will not swap these for the VST2 version either, and I am honestly not sure if a preset of the same plugin would open from VST3->VST2.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

Cheers dood, I guessed as much. I didn't save that project in X2, I just wanted to see if it would open and play

I don't think I've got any VST3 plug-ins yet, either, because at the time of purchase I opted not to download the VST3 version. Just another thing to get my head around haha! Although I suppose, if you're not bothered about go back to X1/2/3 then you just use VST3 plugs anyway.

Hopefully you installed the VST3 of Melodyne. Without it, Melodyne Region FX will be unavailable.

Hi scook,

I've not even installed Melodyne yet... I'm in no rush to be honest, and I don't do vocals, although I believe that you can use Melodyne for other things.

cheers

Yes, things like audio to MIDI conversion. There are quite a few videos at the Celemony site which show many other uses for Melodyne. Although the version bundled with SONAR lacks the polyphonic algorithm.

CW has tried hard to make CW projects work in new versions and older ones. Forward and backward compatibility is an important feature of CW.
