This sounds quite pleasant Julian, the lead voice was a little resonant just before the drums kicked in but other than that it works well here.  Thanks for sharing.

It did make me see stars.  Well, you know what I mean.  I could hear this in one of those space voyage movies.  I know I would enjoy it more if there was a visual with it.  The mix and all is really nice.

What's that that sounds like a Theramin? How do you spell Theremin?

Cool evocative stuff, like I'm waiting for the show to start in a planetarium.

Maybe more bass, and the clav patch in the middle might be a little too loud?

    cheers,

Nice to see a small influx from us 'electronic guys' pushing through here on the 'songs' forum - This is a nicely put together soundscape, hear a lot of the JMJ style in there. Nice work Julian, I will be checking out your SoundCloud page too.

    Hi Julian,
Listening to Fading Star makes me think of a low flying white drone covering the nature.

Very, very nice. This kind of music is all about tonal textures, and you are a master of that. I've got a fair number of your Sound Calendar patches on disk, even though it's really not my style it's always good to have some interesting sounds in your pocket 'cause, well, you never know. Thanks again for sharing those.

My only criticism of this tune, and it's just a personal preference, is the tendency in ambient music to use overly-repetitive white-noise percussion. That "snare" kept pulling my attention away from those great plucks and pads, like a dripping faucet when you're trying to sleep.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    Thanks Dave !
Glad you generally like this piece...
Percussion overlaying ambient... Yes, I know, it might sound a little weird sometimes, but it's just a way how I feel the Space - endless live and hypnotic pulsating, overlaying all other waves... Well, easy to feel, but difficult to tell :)
Glad you keep some Sound Calendar sounds - might be useful some day.

    Best,
    Julian

Yeah, that was really cool...   Loved the combination of soft evolving pad + Theremin-ish leads, with the pluckier parts for contrast.

Like Dave the drums were OK for me, but I'd almost picture something with more a percussion aspect instead of straight electronic drums.   But that's completely subjective.      Either way...  good stuff.
