Haven't played thru Amplitube Mesa Boogie... but here's hoping it raises the bar.

What I like about the Kemper is the ability to profile your own rigs (pedals/amps/cabs/mics).
Literally every component effects the final profile (including the pickups on the guitar used to refine).
I can have my favorite guitar/bass sounds... available at any volume... in a small form-factor.

Nothing will beat a good source (amp/cab/mic)... but the Kemper and AXE-FX are super convenient.

yea,
when i used to play full time in cover bands,
having something like the AXE fx would have been a god-send.

but as i got past all that,
and developed my own tones and style,
i found that i focused on just a particular range of gain,
certain tones,
and when i found the right combination of things that worked for what i wanted,
that was all i needed.

why buy something that can give you a thousand good tones,
when all you really want or need,
is 3 basic good tones? (clean, dirty, solo)

We have posted another video, and audio demos are coming (also heard some audio demo ideas for the next T-RackS processor but that's a different story...):

Had a few extra credits so I pre-ordered the package through the Custom Shop. I really like the Custom Shop, it's almost like going to an actual Music Store except it is a lot quieter. :)

It's like going to a music store to try out the gear, but you only have your own playing to listen to :)  I think we're both saying the same thing nicely, eh.

Guess as per usual I'm the odd man out.  Although I've owned several Mesa's in my time, I never liked any of them...even the Nomad that I thought would be amp nirvana.  But I do understand other folks' devotion to them. Hence, I probably won't be getting this pack...but who knows...crazier things have happened when someone dangles a bright shiny VST in front of me.

And, tangentially, regarding Jim's Kemper comment, another thing I love about the Kemp is that I've got (as of now) 600 plus amps from just about every maker on the planet...rare, difficult to find...super high dollar...clean, crunchy, hi-gain...plus FX, etc...just sitting beside my DAW ready for just about anything.  I get all gooey just thinkin about it:-)

Edit:  and I can't stand coated strings - even intentionally coated as is the rage these days - anyway, especially when it is "organic".  Eww.

Well as my grandpappy used to say "hope in one hand, crap in the other - see which fills up first".  And that might be a bit more accurate what is on the hands that touched those grungy strings before you.  *gag*

Does this work as a stand-alone program, or is it an expansion for Amplitube?
