Sonar VS program

Hello, I posted a thread about the v studio 100 in the hardware forum, but I am also having a problem with the software. "SONAR VS" as it is called on my desktop by default name is having this issue (See picture) when playing the demo song. It displays tracks like so, and will not play them, or move the measure marker at all.

I am running an intel i7, AMD R9 M275, 16 GB Ram, Windows 10, V-studio 100 with 1.50 firmware, an appropriate 1/4 jack speaker with appropriate cable, propper midi keyboard and midi cables. I downloaded and unziped the 1.50 firmware and windows 8.1 version 2.02, but it won't install, and the windows 2.01 software for windows 7, xp, and vista. I appropriately installed the CDs that came with the hardware.

I previously tried recording with my midi keyboard, and it used the sound from my keyboard instead of an instrument from the program, and it was extremely laggy as in some parts would be fast, and others would have excess delay between notes that were played in the exact same way as previous notes.

Others may help but I'm not seeing support for the VS100 drivers and windows 10 yet, if you've hacked the drivers it will be unofficial:

    V-Studio appears discontinued:

Check this post for possible driver hack:

Check everything is set up correctly in windows driver preferences.
If you've installed ASIO4ALL for some reason remove it.

I would say Sonar VS seems pretty ancient and you should consider updating to something like Platinum, you might get a good price if you contact the cakewalk store.

    Another thing...

    What is your MIDI keyboard?
Do you have the latest firmware for it and Windows 10 drivers?
Connecting via USB or MIDI cable?
    Thanks...

I have the Yamaha PSR-510, I do not know when it was purchased, and it connects by MIDI to Midi cables into the V-Studio 100 box. It doesn't have USB ports. I personally haven't updated it, I don't know where the manual or anything is for the keyboard. (Using an equally powerful power plug to turn it on.) Also, I just bought this V-studio 100 equipment, last Thursday. I'll contact Cakewalk to see if they can do anything about musicwriting software, but with college coming, I don't know if I can even afford discounted versions.

You could try a USB/MIDI adapter cable and bypass the interface. You might try another keyboard to test it with. You need to try to rule out if it's the keyboard or the interface. It could still be inconclusive.

Well this is hard to tell...
It could be either VS100, the keyboard or the software. To be honest running all this old stuff, and then throwing it all onto Windows 10 doesn't look like a great combination to me. Hopefully others with similar setups who've worked around this might comment.
