sorry - links not working.  just go to the cakewalk store, click on SPECIALS and scroll down to find them.

as far as whether they're any good or not, I don't know.  I'm just offering the links...

I get a blank screen when I follow the Jupiter 8 link.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

The product in question is....

Cakewalk Sound Center: Jupiter 8 by DSF (Digital Sound Factory).

this product is old and it's for Music Creator.  it will work with Sonar and almost all versions of Cakewalk Sonar.

here is the link on the digital Sound Factory website which has a demo song to listen to.
http://www.digitalsoundfactory.com/jupiter-8-0

cheaper on Cakewalk at $14.95 on sale right now.

it's just okay.  it's NOT a Jupiter 8 but it's some sampled sounds from the Jupiter 8.

Like most Digital Sound Factory products they are okay and dated now.  they used to be top of the game and very diverse product line - now I don't even install anything I had purchased of theirs or that I have from Cakewalk.  There are better libraries out there and much better sounds.

The Mellotron product is here and pretty much same review above:

I also got a blank screen, for both links. I assumed it may have been down to those products only being available in $...

If it's just samples, then I'm not really interested anyway... I was kinda hoping it was a VSTi I'd missed out on...

I'm betting I'm logged into the store and that's why the links work for me and not for anyone else.  let me see if I can fix that...
nope...not sure why.

just go to the cakewalk store and go to SPECIALS and scroll down to find them.

The are intended for Cakewalk Sound Center. I bought the Mellotron some time ago. The first thing I did was move the samples to Rapture and rebuilt the programs. They are OK, especially considering the instrument is sample based anyway. I would think the Jupiter 8 would not be as useful. After buying GForce M-Tron Pro my search for Mellotron sounds ended. The DSF Mellotron samples sit unused now.

It is easier to link to the DSF site which has samples of the sounds
https://www.digitalsoundfactory.com/jupiter-8-0
https://www.digitalsoundfactory.com/mellotron-0
The links in the CW store are in Specials or http://www.cakewalk.com/summer-sale  bottom right "100 downloads under $20." Use the search option in the upper right to filter for "Jupiter" or "Mellotron"

As an aside, if you really want a Jupiter 8 check out Arturia's offering: http://www.arturia.com/products/analog-classics/jupiter8-v . I had a Jupiter back in the day and this is really close to the real thing. Of course it's much pricier that the DSF option.

DSF also has a Soundfont Jupiter-8 for $9.95. Play it with e.g, Sforzando (or sfz, Dimension, Rapture)
http://www.digitalsoundfactory.com/jupiter-8

Mellotron in Soundfont too ... but it's $29.95

Still a fair amount cheaper than the $4,500 the real thing set me back in the 80's, though. It was my main instrument for about 7 or 8 years. It was a beast, weighing in at over 70 lbs in the Anvil case. But it had so many blinking lights that it was its own little light show.

I sold it for $1k, thinking I was dumping it just in time before it lost all value. Silly me, it'd still be worth that much now, a quarter-century later. Same for the Juno-60, Micromoog and Roland drum machines I'd also assumed would soon be obsolete and unloaded around the same time - $800 for the lot.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

If only we'd had that crystal ball bit...

I sold my Juno 6, TR-606 (Drumatix), TB-303 (Bass Line) and SH-101 (needed the money for something else...) for less than half of what I paid for them
