I built a new DAW PC back the 1st of December. I used an ASUS Z170 motherboard that only has USB 3.0 and 3.1 ports on the rear motherboard I/O panel. I initially had a USB 2.0 port on the motherboard (e.g. to be used for a front panel USB port but I had an H100i liquid cooler that was using that port. I bought a PCIe 400/800 Firewire card with at T.I. chipset and my MOTU 896Mk3 Hybrid (USB/Firewire) is working perfect with that PCIe card and Windows 10. I'm using the default Windows/Microsoft Firewire driver, not the "legacy" Firewire driver that had to be used by most on older OS'. The older PCI Firewire card may need to use the Legacy Firewire driver.
