Re-installing X3 - easiest way?

I have to do a re-install of X3 and I want to know how to accomplish this that will cause the least amount of hassle - i.e. avoiding having to reinstall VST instruments and libraries (i.e. such as Addicive Drums, Dimension Pro, etc) if possible.
I've never done this so sorry if this is a bit of a dumb question.

Here are the official instructions for a clean X3 install http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013371/SONAR-X3-Clean-Install-Instructions It only affects the software installed using the SONAR installer. This will include plug-ins bundled with SONAR except those with their own installers. The plug-ins with separate installers are Addictive Drums, DPro and Melodyne. I am not absolutely certain how Melodyne is handled during uninstall. The SONAR installer launches the Melodyne installer so uninstall may also. If that is the case bail out when the Melodyne screen pops up.

thanks, sounds like that's what I need.
I do have Windows 10 installed though, so not sure if that makes a difference to any of those instructions?
