Hi John. Did you check your spelling? Sodom and GomorrahI like the energy of the piece even though it sounds "upbeat" for destruction. I like the change at around 2:04 as well.

Hi John, Yeah... A driving and energetic track for sure. I'm not 100% with the way the different parts "blend" together though, probably because they fade in and out instead of just jumping right into the next part, so it almost sounds like there are two different songs at war here... Or perhaps that is the exact effect that you wanted to achieve, in which case, nice work cheers andy

I haven't listened to this yet, but was curious when I saw this topic (Sadam) on the main forum page and thought it's got to be a military song. Re: Destruction Of Sadam And G..

Thanks Rimshot for catching that spelling for me. I corrected what I could but Cakewalk has it wrong on the permalink line, so they will have to fix that. I corrected it also in my SoundClick site. Glad you enjoyed the piece and some of the changes. Peace and Blessings, John

Didnt expect this at all actually. started off like U2 and went from 80's style. If it is for radio, I would re-arrange this all to fit a style and flow better. The historic "flash sequences", steal its momentum too often. If not and its for the journey and personal palette, leave it just the way it is. Its a real ride! Cian

Nice! Some of the guitar oriented themes remind me of the band Extreme (who I happen to like). It is a little "different" in the way the themes seem to switch rather than melding into each other, but I think that's what you were going for. About the only negative I could add is that it doesn't seem very "destructive", but hey, that doesn't take anything from what you've created.

Planobilly, Thanks for the listen and for your comments, they are both appreciated very much. And yes, you are right, it is just an interpretation of a time and a place in world events, but one so many people haven't gotten yet, so it could fall into a category for the uninformed. whack, Just goes to show you can't please all the people all the time. Don't forget, I create these for a video playing in my minds eye and of course you may create your own video (thru the music) in your minds eye, that is different from mine. I guess that is what makes art so special and individualized. It is a real ride though and hope you enjoyed it. Peace and Blessings, John

stevec, Thanks for the listen and comments, they are much appreciated. The destruction maybe behind a whisper and some themes meld into one another while others switch with the different scenes playing in my mind. Also, I was trying something different here, and when I figure it out, I will let you know. Peace and Blessings, John

this sounds good, as far as the mix goes......
sounds very influenced by action movie soundtracks, and maybe a bit of 'run' from pink floyd's 'the wall' it does come off more as a 'soundtrack', than a song..... it switches gears in a way that seems disjointed for a proper 'song', but fine with a movie type flow.....
this sounds good, but is not very cohesive as a 'written' song.
it's more like 'found art', where you cut out cool pictures of different stuff, and glue them all on a large board to create a bigger piece. i cannot really understand this sort of writing.... there is nothing that ties any of it together. i think it would be much more effective, if you tied it all together with a sung melody. just something to think about.

John, Wow, cool stuff here for sure! The first jump in the motif of the tune shook me for a second but then I got into it as it shifted back and forth. Very U2 meets Jan Hammer--ish for sure. Would make a great music foundation for an extreme sports video...not that we have to pigeon-hole the tune. Mix sounds good on my system and the performances were flawless. Very fun. Nice work!

Hey Gonzo, This is for sure painting a bigger picture from many smaller pictures and then taking it into the digital printer and blowing it up into a larger format through specialized mastering. The file is loaded only as 192mp3 into soundclick and converted to a 128mp3, yet the sound has pretty much kept all of its original values. It is because the various values learn through the conversion process and change accordingly. All my work is for video, but I don't have a videographer to work with and having this cancer doesn't make things any better . I can't play my guitars, because of the tingling side effects, so I just have to do the best I can due with the software that I have. Whether it be for action, drama, sports, there are many, many pictures playing in my minds eye all the time, so I just put the music to that, and most likely that the only play it will be seen. Like you, you already envisioned a sports thing, Pink Floyd possibility, action feeling/vibe, so maybe you understand it more than you think. Anyway, glad you found it interesting. Peace and Blessings, John By the way, have a 1971 Gibson SG1 for sale. You can view it on my sound click page. Have a peek!!

Sounds awesome man, really cool painting too. I like the idea of the different musical excerpts being snapshots, seems highly appropriate for the 21st century lifestyle. What elements were recorded and what was sequenced, if you don't mind me asking?

Amine, Thanks for listening and glad you enjoyed the piece. I just listened to one of your songs, Some Day, the first one on the list, very nicely done and enjoy to listen to, with a nice clean mix. As for what I do, because of my cancer my fingers tingle 24/7 and I can't play any of my guitars, drums or keyboards anymore, so everything I do is sequenced from nearly $15K worth of files I have purchased/collected or created with my instruments or virtual instruments over the past 25 years. I have been trying to sell of my instruments, because my type of cancer is terminal, but is very, very slow growing and who knows, maybe they will come up with a cure soon. Anyway, hope you will go to my site and listen to more. Peace and Blessings, John

Amine, Well, to tell you the truth, I, myself, don't even know how I work with all of these files. They are all stored on my computer and backed up to a 3 TB memory drive. When I start a piece of music, I go to these files and start to listen to them to see if I can find what is appealing to what is playing in my mind, based on a video in my minds eye. You may notice that one of my statements is: I try to created music that goes along with the title of the song, thus the video in my minds eye helps me come up with the title. Listening to the file I own can take days and I write them down and when I'm ready, I choose a tempo and beat I think will work for what I want to do, then I convert the music pieces to my selected tempo/ beat and then I start to arrange them on how ever many tracks it takes to create a wav. file. This can take hours or some times days to get everything into proper perspective so it ends up being an actual completed piece of music. It takes time to adjust everything in the mastering process and is very time consuming, but for me it is all worth it. Look at it this way: How mush do you think it would cost me to hire professional musicians to play all of these instruments to create these musical creations I have done? It would be in the thousands for each and every piece. My file are for as long as I live, with all rights to create musical pieces and even to sell them if I like, but I have gotten some good prices, on sale, when purchasing these file, over the years, and for the virtual instruments, as well. So, there you have it. Also, thank you for your prayers, they are very much welcomed and appreciated. Peace and Blessings, John

Tony, I must of had a brain lapse or something and missed replying to your wonderful comments and the fact that you enjoyed this piece so much. Well, thank you so much for listening and for your kind words and thoughts. The pigeon in the hole is not U2 or Jan Hammer but my version of, What really happened to the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah, and what music might give vision to my thoughts of that experience. You have listened to my work before and know that each piece I work on is an adventure based on the title of the piece. The loops, samples, sound fonts, virtual instruments creations and other files of instruments are all looked at in the creation of each and every piece. It all may be time consuming, but for me worth the effort when I take my time and try to get it right. But, I do take all responsibility for the mistakes I do as well. I thank you for listening, glad you enjoyed this piece and hope you will come back for more and visit my site. Peace and Blessings, John
