Windows 10 Addictive Drums problem
I upgraded to Windows 10. Addictive Drums now crackles in playback and only on some kits. I tried increasing buffer size in ASIO to maximum and it is better but still crackling. Lowered the levels in the kit and same problem. I updated my ASIO drivers and same problem. Some of the kits won't run more and a second or so and cause audio dropout. I tried it with just one track in the project and that was Addictive Drums. It is nearly unusable. Any one know what might be the problem?

Suggestions.. Update your audio interface firmware and drivers. What is your audio interface? VST reset: https://www.cakewalk.com/...ommended-for-UpgradersCheck your windows power settings, cpu Min/Max should be 100% Try disabling intel speedstep. Update your midi buffers in Platinum. Try running latencymon. Run windows update Defrag. Temporarily disable your virus scanner.

I also had drum sounds popping. As soon as I changed Wind0ws10 power management to 100%min + 100% Max. the issue was fixed. This seemed to be the only thing that fixed it.

Changing CPU Power settings is done through windows power management. Go to the search bar at the bottom left and type in Power Options. You will get something like edit power plan in the fly up menu, select this, you want to edit the advanced settings. There are various ways to get to this option but this seems the easiest. You want to change these bits. Power Options/Advanced power management. Processor Power Management - Minimum State(change to 100%) Processor Power Management - Maximum State(change to 100%) I am running an i7 laptop with 8gb ram and a Line6 Kb37. And it all sounds awesome now, with power settings changed I can now max all my latency settings with no clipping or crashing. Everything is synced super tight. Previously some midi notes went missing when playing them from a drum kit. That is fixed too. AD2 runs like dream. Love the Fairfax Vol.1 medium room. This fix seems to be the wholly grail for my basic home setup running sonor professional. Thanks to Doktor Avalanche for worldly guidance. His post put me on the right track.

This is a 2 year old thread,, but anyhows I had crackling on my laptop after I upgraded to 10, the first thing I did was update the graphics driver. I pretty much started with it, thinking I'd have to work through a few things to get it. But that cleared it.
