My mashup tune. (now edited for Tom)

Tom, here's the original.

I wrote and recorded this way back in 2003. I actually heard the final mix of this tune when I was on vacation in Tahiti. But, I digress.

About a year after we did this tune, a friend of mine heard another guy - he calls himself Father Time do this verbal attack on Indie music and the internet, etc. He put that together with our tune - which was entitled Strollin' Stoned together.

This is how it turned out - please beware there is a bit of foul language.

Fun one Mark!  Gives me a mental image of a sloppy beach bar with drinks half-spilled on the bar top, and shot glasses on their sides.  I love the production work and performances.  Great sounds, especially the warbly guitar tones.  Only nitpick is maybe the vocal panning around could be reduced a bit, but that's a matter of opinion.

Great job Mark. That Hawaiian slide work on this was really unexpected and delightful. I really enjoyed this fun tune.

You've got a lot of stuff in reserve there, pard!  I like this one a bunch.  Cool guitar work.  Was that all guitar work or is there some synth stuff in there?  Loved it!

Uh, ok, love the drums, very live room sounding, and the hawaiian guitar treatment totally works. It's almost worth putting up with the rantings of shallow that thinks it's deep. I'd say your excellent party music is set back more than helped by his pseudointellectual drivel - I'd cut half of it away, because less is more in this case, in my opinion.

Imagine your song with less of him - I think it would be more fun, like your music! MAybe just a taste of his act, here and there.

Sorry I'm not more glowing in my praise :) really liked the music though!

    cheers,
    -Tom

Hey, Mark, It's great to see you back around on the forum and it's always a pleasure to hear your tasty guitar work!

The guitars and Hawaiian guitar parts sounded fantastic and the bass and drums were perfect for a laid back, good-time party song.

Cool production, and it sure sounds like you guys had a lot of fun putting it together!

    Have a good one, Mark!

I posted the mashup as a hoot. The guy that did the talking in that tune is actually one of the biggest jerks I've ever come across on the internet.

Hi Mark, thanks for the original! Like it much!

As it's from 2003, if there is any point of commenting on the original, I'd vote for vocals up just a hair . . . but I think it's much improved without that guy's psychobabble.  :)

I wrote my original crit of that guy late at night, and I have to laugh now at how strong I criticised his presence in your otherwise fine song. Sorry to be the crank - and yes I'd agree he's a piece of work!

again, nice song! I feel like I'm in the room with those drums, and the Hawaiian guitar is a treat.

    cheers,
    -Tom
