I need to increase the tempo (BPM) of the first 30 measures of a song I recorded in MIDI.

In Sonar X3 I need to increase the tempo of the first 30 measures of my song without changing the tempo of the rest of the song.

In Sonar X3 I recorded (In MIDI) a song with the first 30 measures much too slow. But from 30 measures on I want the song to remain the same slow speed I recorded it in, while quickening the first 30 measures. Is there a simple way of making the first 30 measures a faster tempo (BPM), while maintaining the rest of the song (from measure 31 on to the end) at the same tempo I recorded it in?

I just need to somehow apply two tempos to a song I've already recorded. But also, is it possible to begin a new song, but have a tempo change in mid-song? In my case I've already recorded the song and I'd like to change it by making the introductory jazz melody theme faster.

There's probably a run-around way of doing it by copying the first 30 measures (at one tempo) and setting it aside, and then making a copy of the last hundred measures and somehow apply a different tempo to it than the first, and patch it back to the other part, but running at a different tempo (BPM).

It seems like something Sonar would be able to do relatively easily. Jazz songs often have different tempos so it would seem to be a function that Cakewalk would have a method of application.

Sonar uses a tempo map which can be edited with a system similar to any envelope...

Open Tempo Map and you can create nodes as well as curves/jumps from any tempo to any tempo at a slope/rate...

This works great as long as it's all midi or mapped prior to any audio recording...
