Older vst's

I have a question, probably for the bakers, about retrieving old vst's. I had to redo computer software, windows, so had to start from scratch on all things sonar. There is one vst from sonar 8, lexicon reverb, that did not come back. I went all the way back to 8.5. Tried to load that, but it wouldn't load. Said there was missing software so could not download. I bought the sonar 8 disc's but can't find them at the moment. I have both serial and registration but there is no download for 8. Understandable because I should have the disc. Is there a workaround if I cannot find disc's.....I know!..........one vst. But hey it's a lexicon.

I did the same thing with my Windows 10. All I did was pop in the Sonar 8 DVD and install Pantheon. That was the only thing I wanted from it. Pantheon is a DX plugin so it will be under DX plugins in your Plugin menu.

This is actually a good question. I don't think I have any downloads for X1 Production Suite in my account because that was my first version and bought the box. I of course keep them in a safe place but if I lost them and needed to reinstall I'd be fraxxored.

However I am sure that if you can verify ownership (which is easy if you registered) customer support could generate download links and send them to you. Basically since all this stuff is avaliable for download for users who bought PREVIOUS boxed versions (so in my case someone who upgraded to X1 would have a link and in you case someone who upgraded from 7 to 8 would have a link) then Cake should have a set of downloadable installers avaliable.

    So yeah... contact support.

Notice: Not entirely sure that's how it works but they must have those files somewhere.

    Cheers.

The problem is 8.5 was an update and required the DVD of Sonar 8 to install. You could buy the 8.5 DVD but most didn't.
They are all in your store account.

I think OP is saying the plug he's looking for is on the 8 disc which is missing. So he would need Cakewalk to generate a download link for the entire Sonar 8 package and then the OP could do a custom/advanced installed to get that specific plug... in theory of course.

AFAIK the Bakers will generate a download link in such situations provided the customer can verify they did indeed own the legacy product. I may be wrong on that.

Still it doesn't hurt to contact support. Really that's the only way you'll be able to obtain such an old product legally (unless you can somehow purchase an old, surplus, unregistered version of Sonar 8 somewhere and even then I think that might be borderline skeevy).

Seriously... just get a hold of Cake Support.
