No Voice
It's been a week since the surgery and I still can't talk. You think my singing voice was bad before I can't do any business over phone or talk to anyone. Not even my imaginary pharmacist THIS SUCKS! I can play my guitar though But not very long I can focus on stuff I need to practice But not very much I can eat some foods that are not liquid but not Becan I woke up and got out of bed. That is good P.S. I now have the new start screen!

Are they expecting your voice to recover? Hope so. I tried to get my first wife signed up for elective surgery to clip her vocal chords, but someone spilled the beans. Hope everything heals quickly. Bob Bone

Very nice version. Thanks, I plan to study on the Cannonball Adderly solo. And the best of wishes on that voice again. yorolpal https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sgn7VfXH2GY Back at ya with my fave. Chet and Paul of course ( here with the young Steve Gadd, Bob James and Ron Carter)
I know this one. A very powerful version of Autumn Leaves. I have been looking for this version. I once had it on a compilation album which I lost. And I didn't know what album it was originally from. So thank you very much for posting .

Hi, The calm before the song ... hang in there ... think of it as you are just warming up! Actually, probably not a bad idea, doing some of those voice/type exercises used for singers and actors?

After Cannonball's solo Miles comes in with his "cool" style of phrasing. I transcribed a lot of solos by him and this is one of my favorites! What Miles could do with a simple phrase just by the way he played it in the song. Wow

One of many things that floors me about Miles solos is he would play a phrase and the next chorus move it one beat over. I love that

Hi, Maybe he just had no sense of time or measures or notes or chords? As it should be.

bayoubill WOW! Steve Gadd too. Thanks for the link. I LOVE THIS!
You ought to hear Steve Gadd with Kate Bush in that snow album!!!! Totally excellent, and some of the Gadd stuff I used to love a lot was his work with Rickie Lee Jones in the early days if I am not mistaken. That's was a drummer and then some! Beautiful accents and touches!

Thanks for the inspiration. I'm going to transcribe and learn the Cannonball solo. Transcribing solo's is a lot of work.

Ok, folks. Let's try to have a little sensitivity here. Please, let's not have any talk of palm muting or jokes about Billi Vanilli. That's not right. While it's true that he is now one of the top 10 Country Vocalists of 2015, pointing that out is just rude. Have a little human decency. He's got feelings, you know. At least, he might have some. They may be kept in a jar next to the pork 'n' beans, but they're around here somewhere. Ok, whoever set the TV on the Mime Channel, you need to sit right down and think about what you've done. Yes, I'm sure he'd be a great mime, but that's not the point. Really? You're going to teach your dog to speak right here and now? Do you have any humanity left? No, I don't think that getting Bill a parrot would be nice. On the other hand, it would probably be the least annoying parrot you've ever heard. Still, I think the talking bird idea is probably out. We might come back to it later, though. We may have digressed a bit. No, don't call Bill to ask about the parrot. How is he going to answer the phone? Now, had you thought of that? What do you mean, "that's what the bird is for?" It ain't trained yet. Bill, we apologize. This is deplorable. We have behaved like children, and I don't mean the good ones you admit to having when someone asks if they're yours. I hope you can forgive us. Now that we have that out of the way, if you don't want me to go ahead and finish off your becan, just speak up.
