I know that feeling, just a little. We don't get hurricanes in Scotland, but I've had my roof peel off in 100MPH winds, you don't forget that. Hope it passes you by without damage.

i lived thru hurricane Hugo, in south charleston, back in '89.
was without any water for 2 weeks, no electricity for 6 weeks.
would not wish that on anyone.

Luckily, we only got tons of rain and not as bad as the initial assessment. However, the lightening and thunderstorms here in FL are some of the most severest I've experienced.....loud & scary enough to make grown man cry (cue for my next blues song).

Just got back from a camping trip to northern Idaho...smoke everywhere, eyes burning, the moon a strange orange color. No fires in that part of Idaho, though, all that smoke was from fires a hundred miles away in central Washington.
While I was away we had a nasty windstorm here. Only lost an arbor and the large Wisteria that lived on it, but the scary thing is we don't EVER get windstorms here in August. Not ever. Coupled with the bizarre spring and summer - record-breaking heat and drought, no snow in the mountains - and it's easy to imagine that Mother Nature is indeed turning against us. It's the End of Days, I tell ya.
 All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

Yes, I am wearing a full body aluminium foil environment suit. Yes, it's unbelievably hot in here. I may have a few Dr. Who stickers on my suit. I guess that, sometimes, I just want to feel pretty. The problem is (after that last flamethrower incident), most of the inhabitants in other planets have made it very clear that my kind "ain't welcome in their part of da woods".......only these lower species here on earth seem to (outwardly) accept me with open arms.
