Trillion frames per second camera fast enough to capture light moving.

Remember the iconic high-speed images captured by Harold Edgerton back in the sixties, such as this:

This video is introduced by his nephew, and shows how a burst of photons is captured as it moves across a scene.

To get an idea of how much faster this technique is compared to Edgerton's, it would take about a year to watch the passage of the bullet through the apple in the set up above.

Incredible.

That's cool.

It's a good thing I'm not involved though, because I'd have an irresistible urge to insert a few doctored frames containing images to mess with people.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

Very impressive.
In Finland a guy has started a research of whether light moves any faster under a threat.
Well, he's a cartoon artist...

Very cool stuff.

It sounds like the technique is more akin to stop-action or clay-mation (i.e., a really sophisticated Mr. Bill).

What I got from it (I only watched the vid one time) is that they are using a pulsing laser and then sampling down the path of the beam.

Amazing stuff, thanks for sharing!  Only disappointment is that after creating a 1 trillion FPS camera, they decided to post on youtube at only 720 HD resolution. :P  I can only "imagine" what it might look like in full 1080, or higher.
