CWBRN-35006 new start screen does not tolerate special characters.

In my case it is a project folder and file name the contain and apostrophe as in the word: I'm
It does work to open the project using file>open so its not a show stopper.

UTF Support within Command Center is not working 2015/09/06 15:03:38 (permalink)

    Hi,
There is a great chance to be the 1000th to Report this problem:
The new Start Screen does not support any of my Projects, because here in Europe we have some pretty funny characters. Newertheless, I know that I can launch them via the menu bar. I think it is easy to fix (just Switch to UTF8 - it should be compatible and is just a variable to change within the code) and would be really helpful. The current status is not an improvement of the Start Screen, it is just broken...

Update: Problem solved - Fix is working!

Ipswitch does not correct the problem for me. Hopefully our friends in Europe will be happier.

I on the other hand still can't use the start screen on several projects because they contain the apostrophe (single quote symbol) in the path and file name.

I updated my problem report but still have zero feedback from Cake on this problem.

    Come on guys!

Ok. just for grins I disabled the firewall rule I have blocking sonar for internet access. I tested again and it indeed does open the projects and does not truncate the file name.

I am not inclined to leave the firewall rule turned off because it increases the start time of sonar from the 3-5 second range to 20-25 second range.

I hope this helps narrow down where the problem is.
