Windows 10 reset

I had upgraded my computer to Windows 10, and while I am pleased with the increase in speed, there are major printing problems (print spooler keeps crashing, ports appear and disappear - and be assured, I am computer savvy and I have tried every fix recommended by Microsoft and other users). I am at the point where I am considering a Windows 10 reset, which wipes my registry and installs Windows 10 as if it were a fresh install. This will mean I'll have to reinstall all my apps, including Sonar, all my plug-ins, etc.
Here's my question for Cakewalk: will there be any authorization problems on this, for Sonar and all the related programs (Melodyne, Strum, etc.)? Thanks for your time and trouble.
And by the way, if anybody thinks they have a solution to the printer problem that won't require a Windows 10 reset, I am offering a $200 fee (payable by PayPal) to the individual who has the solution.

One day, when I have the time, I will learn how to use all the features of Cakewalk 2.0. Oh, wait, Sonar 8.5. What did you say? Sonar version what?

Best way to do a totally clean install is boot from installation media (don't run from windows), do custom install and format the os partition.

As you've already installed win10 you should have no problems with the license key. Just skip every time it asks you for the key it will fill it in automatically after you've got windows running for you.

Backup with something like acronis first of course.

Thanks, but I solved the problem. I unplugged and uninstalled an old dye-sublimation photo printer (not supported in Windows 10), and now Windows properly recognizes my other printer.

No thanks to Microsoft, of course, but thanks to the many people who posted suggestions on many computer forums.

FYI it's up to the printer manufacturer to supply drivers that work. Check for latest updates on their site (assuming they are still supporting it).

    Not Microsofts fault.

    Cheers.

I have performed a fresh install of Win 10 and had no authorization problems with Sonar products installing or working after providing the necessary credentials.

Wow that is excellent news ….I'm so happy for you .
Now you can take the $ 200 bucks you were gonna use to pay somebody else and do a little shopping at the Cakewalk Store ….

sorry I couldn't resist … I mean well at heart

You can always install the printers using the old drivers manually for legacy printers

How to install unsupported printer drivers on windows 10

    Steps:
    1-Open devices and printers
    2-Click add printer
    3-Click printer isn't listed
4-Select add a local printer with manual settings
    5-Choose USB001or port prompt
    6 Windows update
    7-Choose brand of Printer
8-Choose printer (if not listed choose closest available option)
9- IF you have the disk select Have disk and find driver
    9-Name and print test page
    10-DONE!!!

    I hope this helps.

    Peace,
