Feeling Down

Today I found at best I won't be able to speak for a month, so I pulled out my comfort music. Here's one of the tunes I like to listen to for happiness

If you add some Southern Comfort to that, you'll probably feel even better!

That cheered me up, too, and I wasn't even feeling down. That git-picker could have been mute and it wouldn't have made any difference; his guitar is plenty eloquent.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I like this comment:

If only these guys could have been pretentious jerks but, no, they had to go and be down to earth humble guys that just happen to be musical geniuses. Damn them.

hi,

You can fine tune your humming, maybe?

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

Feel better, Bill. It is infuriating (and/or depressing) not being able to engage in ones art to full capacity.

Your fingers still work though, aye? Let your guit do the weeping for ya.

Cheers.

Thanks Beeps! I'm just now able to hold my guitars. I had the staple and stitches out a couple of days ago. My timing is off and my accuracy needs to be adjusted but it sure did feel good practicing and playin a few tunes today

Right on, man. I bet it did. I honestly find being forced into not playing for a while shakes things loose in the brain pan. Like all the notes, concepts and ideas get a chance to reorganize themselves into new and interesting forms. Then on top of that having to struggle a bit physically to get those ideas out can be helpful too because it sometimes makes you choose another strategy you otherwise would not have thought of like a different voicing or doing a run in a different position which opens up a range of new lick possibilities.

It's almost as if when we get too practiced up and can play the first thing that we try every time we don't explore as much.

Just some silly philosimasizing but it works for me (or at least I convince myself it does... lulz).

Heal up quick.

Cheers!

I know that sounds strange, but in the end, the more variation and things you add to your words, the more individualistic your style will be. Even Robert Plant in the old days, did a bit more than just humming ... and I doubt he was faking it!
