Music Creator 7 Metronome lags

Hi all, when trying to record a track, there seems to be a random lag with the software metronome. The guitar records just fine when I play it back, but the metronome lags and randomly goes out of sync. Not sure what is causing it or how to fix it. Are there any settings I should be checking? Also the metronome goes out with recording AND playback, even though the track is recording and playing back properly. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

    what soundcard are you using and what are your driver mode and latency settings.
     
    latency settings are the most likely cause, but we need more information to help you.

    Thank you for getting back to me so quickly :)
    I am using a Steinburg UR22, running the latest ur22 asio drivers.

    Ok, that's not bad
    let's check the metronome settings then, I think that's on the next tab (Playback and Recording)
    if the metronome is set to MIDI, make sure and change it to AUDIO

    I figured it out, I followed the  Windows optimization guide and no longer have any issues with the software :) 
    Thank you for helping me! Hopefully if anyone has the same issue in the future this can help them as well :P
