Error Code 0F00:133C

I decided to post this here also cuz I've never gotten a response in the Computer forum on this kind of thing

My PC has been running badly here lately so I decided to run diagnostics. I got an error message of 0F00:133C
I have no idea what that means. I was having problems playing videos in Win media player. A video would play for a while and my pc would slowly freeze up til finally my mouse would stop then nothing. I would have to hold the start button to restart. Anyway, Please help!!

Google Consensus seems to be bad video card and/or flaky ram, ol pal.

    Hi,

Normally that error also comes with the name of the file that it happened with. That file name is more important, since the numbers you gave is simply a memory address or equivalent.

WMP is not good for video and I, personally, do not use it for DVD's for example ... it's ok for mp4's, wmv's and those kind of video files, but DVD's is a no. If it "slowly" freezes up, it could also be a buffering issue, but I find it weird to see that these days as fast as most machines are, which leaves things in the hand of the video card and/or its drivers. But it's not clear that the buffering in memory or the program is out of sync and old stuff, like an old version of WMP trying to open a newer video/media file, or vice versa, for which they likely lack the parts for it. Windows, does not include the correct drivers, for example, to play DVD's on WMP.

Always make sure you write down the file name it happens on ... you can search for that file on the net, and it will tell you where the file belongs, which normally leads to your issue.

    Hi,

    Note ... on video drivers!

My W10 GTX 760 upgraded fine and the drivers were fine.

My w10 GTX 970 did not, and Windows used some generic crap drivers and came back with 640x480 stuff on the screen. It was OK once I downloaded the new drivers for it.

In both cases, the video drivers are actually behaving better than they did on W8.1, and I think that Microsoft is doing a bit more hands off stuff on them. IF (big IF) that is the case, this should improve any video anything having to do with music and any DAW. The rest, I would imagine would have to do with memory, but I can not see anyone doing music seriously with any less that 16G to 32G of memory, specially when the older Windows could not even use all the memory the machines had!

    Hope this helps
