I was making this very decision a few weeks ago... I was down to the SPL Crimson, Audient iD22, and RME Babyface. I went with the Audient, and have been extremely happy with it. It's on a whole different level than my Delta 1010. I know that doesn't answer your question, but I just wanted to throw my 2¢ in.

Depends on your needs I guess.

The Crimson only offers 2 mic & 2 line inputs. Many popular interfaces offer a lot more IO

Yeah inputs aren't really a big issue. I'm a one man show and record from preamps through my interface to the computer so I only really need one line input from an interface, What caught my eye about this unit was the funtionality as a monitor controller, the only thing it's missing for me is a mono button but sure thats easily implemented in sonar.
Leadfoot is that audient a monitor controller also and have 4 outputs, i.e. 2 sets of speakers?

Yep. Two sets of outputs, and a headphones output that can double as a third output. And assignable hot buttons for things like dim, mute, and MONO.

Had a read of the review in sound on sound, The audient is certainly the way to go and I'm gonna get it. Is it true that it doesnt need drivers so it will be ok on windows 10?

Well, there is firmware that you need. Is that the same thing? Sorry, I'm not as knowledgeable as I'd like to be on computers. I know that you have to install the mixer software. Then from the mixer panel, you go click on help, and one of the options is to update the firmware. Make sure you do that, because I didn't realize that the firmware wasn't included with the software install, and I was having clicks and pops at first. I hope you can access the internet on your DAW computer. It will make the update easy for you. I had to email support and get the bin file sent to me. But on the bright side, Audient's support was great at getting back to me quickly.
UPDATE: I just found a response from Audient that addresses your question. It looks like they hope to have Windows 10 drivers available very soon. But there's also a comment by a user who says he's running just fine on Windows 10. Here's the page.
