Start screen - not picking up recent projects in list

The start screen is not picking up recent projects that have been opened. This feature is basically useless to me. It is now disabled.

If I open a project, play around with it and close it, I expect that it should be in that start screen info of recent files if it is in the recent files list in the 'file' dropdown. Is that a wrong expectation?

Yes but shouldn't it behave the same as SONAR's own Recent Projects list? Whatever mode is used, it should be the same, no?

If the behaviour is different it is yet another bug with the start screen...

It is different and i think is part of the reason for the angst over the new 'feature'. Looks like the recent project list outlines projects that were opened, whereas the start screen lists only files that have been saved.
I won't submit a FR as i didn't want the feature in the first place. However, i do agree that the behaviour should be consistent.

NOW you guys get why I posted.

As I outlined in my firsat post. I was expecting a graphical representation of the recent file list when you use the file button to open recent projects whether you save them or not. If you successfully CLOSE a project, the file list populates with that project, but not the start screen dialog.

of course, it's just a different "view" of the same function (hopefully!)

My startscreen pops up, but is and stays empty. No (saved) recent files.
     Don't know the reason.
    Reinstalling sonar does not help.

I always found it mildly annoying but I never gave it much thought. I usually just browse through my drive to the folder where I stash my projects ans open a file directly from there.

I'm not sure if this is related to the start screen issue but...:

Recently opened projects are updated in SONAR registry only if SONAR is closed wotjpit crashing. If SONAR crashes, currently open project is not stored in the registry. SONAR may also crash during exit, for example due to buggy 32 bit plug-in, and also in that case recent items are not updated.
