Drum replacer scroll and delay

I don't understand why drum replacer view stops scrolling after you touch any of the parameter... And I don't understand the delay control. Acctually I never change it because it seems to be set to a standard value that matches with the original clip. Is this automatically calculated relating to system latency or what?
