Computer Audio Plays Marginally Slower With Sonar Platinum Open

Good morning everyone!

I feel like I've seen this sort of issue before, but I can't figure out the proper search terms. Simply put, when Sonar Platinum is open, all of my computer audio outside of Sonar Platinum plays slightly slower and, consequently, lower in pitch. The audio inside of Sonar is just fine, it's just everything else that's messed up.
I'm just curious if anyone may know of a fix for this, or any idea as to what may be going on.

Thanks, and take care!

You have Sonar set to use a different sample rate than 44.1k/16 bit which is what all the other playback proggies are set to use.

Or the other way around - the system is probably set to 48KHz by default (for DVDs etc), Sonar requests control of the device and switches it to 44.1KHz, and audio outside Sonar is stretched out about 8%.

You could try checking for updated audio drivers, or maybe switching the audio driver mode that Sonar uses.

Hello Gustabo and Kylotan, thanks for the replies!

Mm, so basically what I need to do is ensure that the sample rate on my system matches the sample rate in Sonar?

Or turn off driver sharing in Sonar

Thanks for that suggestion, Gustabo, that seems much simpler. =-)
