Doesn't sound like the Mixbuss folks around here have been talking about. Looks like they used the mac version. Perhaps it's better?

The latest version seems pretty stable here. If you own a license you can get interim releases at the Harrison forum. Easily worth the $79 IMHO.

Which of the interim releases have you found the most stable? I saw you post over there about 1508 issues; so is the 1610 release the one that works best for you?

ampfixer , I'm currently having a great experience w Mixbus 3 Yes , you are right , what you see appears to be the Mac version in the pics …. I run MB3 on both Mac and PC and it looks pretty much the same on both OS's .. IMHO it's A Real Thing Of Beauty . Kenny

Both work great. My problems had nothing to do with Mixbus3 as it turns out. I started having issues with Sonar too. I did a system restore and everything is fine. I am running Harrison Mixbus 3.0.1610 now.

bapu I hope it is better and I am quite keen to find out how you got on with this release. I have downloaed it in preparation. Right now I think it is an absolute dog of a program and it has become totally unusable for me. I have completely uninstalled, sound or not. I am sure it is not written for Windows in the first sense. I bet the Windows version is an afterthought.

Harrison has said that build 1610 has introduced some bugs with track ordering and most people should use 1508 for now. Are the people here that are having issues using the interim release 1508 or the 3.0 release? I have noticed a huge improvement with 1508.

Did my first real mix with MB3 yesterday (interim version 3.0.1610 ). This project was made up of 9 drum tracks, one bass, three guitars, a strings track and a Vox track. And one MIDI track using Ivory. I just used MB FXs with the exception of Relab's LX-480 for vox and snare. I had one anomaly. At one point I closed & saved the project and I got a "Mixbus stopped working" message. After clearing that message by closing the program, my changes were there after the next open of the project.

1508 on my Win laptop and it has managed to squeak out 30 tracks of audio and plugs w out and problems … I'm staying put there for now until Harrison has a Win update that is cleared and good to go all across the board as opposed to 1608 …specific fixes w a warning not to go there unless you need the fixes in the update … 1608 on my i Mac …works like a charm over there ….older machine , lighter spec , less ram ….chugs along much better than I had expected ….1608 definitely fixed a few issues for me in that OS fwiw….my setup would be classified as hobbyist right now so I may not of pushed in areas a working studio or user may have pushed …. Over all I'm very pleased w MB 3 and I look forward to them sorting out a few of the left over kinks some folks are having .. Kenny

Started happening more frequently (like 4 out of 5 times). I think this might be related to changing the Group view as Ben said that 1610 introduced a problem with what now seems like groups/tracks.

Thanks for this. I am waiting for the official (non-beta) release; I am letting you guys be the testers. I may yet give in and try out the interim release given the positive results some of you are having. Do hope that the bugs are getting fixed and that an official release is coming; yet, I would rather them get it fixed than be premature with a faulty release.

There is an "Interim Release" subforum on the Harrison Mixbus Forum; however, you have to be a registered forum user to view the Interim Release area.

Thanks cecelius. I actually have a v2 license as well as plugins- it seems like one of these companies where you have to keep all your receipts. Luckily I still have them.

You are probably correct. He probably needs a license. I was just recalling that their website requires one to be one of the "registered users" to see the interim release section. Since Harrison does not do demo releases, he will need to purchase a license to use an interim release. Thanks for pointing this to my attention.

Too right Kenny. I got the $40 for upgrade, $100 for upgrade + compressor notification. TBH, I wish more companies were with iLok as it makes upgrading and keeping track of stuff so much easier. I recently upgraded my main rig to Win10 and now the XLN stuff refuses to work for instance.

@backwoods, The multi band mastering compressor is real nice addition to Mix3us … You may need to send XLN an e mail so they can get you back up and running . fwiw….I'm happy Harrison does not use an i Lock …i currently have nothing that requires it , so I have no need for one. In the future maybe I could roll w an i Lock if I was running a number of machines w duplicate DAW programs , plugs and expensive sample libraries that require an i Lock … until then no thanks … I can't justify it w only a couple of machines over here …. hell i don't even have the space for it and I need my USB ports for other things … nice rapping w you , Kenny

Just installed the latest Interim Release of Mixbus 3 (1970). It works much much better for me--much more stable. I did a fresh install. My UAD plugins, IKMultimedia plugins, Slate Vsts all work great now as do all the plugins I have tried. The only problems I have noticed is that while Mixbus 3 scans Izotope Ozone 4 and Ozone 5, these plugins still never show up in Mixbus 3's vst folders. Also, EZKeys still crashes Mixbus3, but that has been the only crash since installing 1970 interim release. It would be nice to be able to use Ozone with it, but I think that even as it now stands, Mixbus3 is finally usable and stable (at least on my machine [Win 8.1 64bit]). I know this thread is a little old, but I thought since we have mentioned previous interim releases, that I would just update here and not start a new thread.
