Plug in can't be deleted from synth rack [Solved]

I have both BFD3 and AD2 in my synth rack. BFD3 is not assigned to any tracks but when I play the track for AD2 it triggers BFD3. There's no echo turned on and no connection between BFD3 and the project. I've found that I can't delete BFD3 from the synth rack no matter what I try. It's acting like the 2 drum synths are some how cross linked. I can delete AD2 but BFD3 refuses to leave.

First time I've ever seen a problem like this.

    Never seen anything like that.

What happens when you try to delete BFD?

Is the delete option greyed out or does it just do nothing?

I don't know what the problem is, but can you create a new project with only AD2 and copy/paste any track info? Maybe the file is corrupted in some way?

I'm guessing BFD is inserted in the FX bin of AD2's audio output track or some other audio track. It'll show up in the synth rack, but you have to delete it from the FX bin to remove it.  Not sure how it would be receiving MIDI without a track routed to it, though - possibly it's playing an internal pattern...?

Thanks guys, brundlefly was right. BFD was in the fx bin of an empty audio track and starting playback triggered pattern playback in BFD. Which is the appropriate emoticon for embarrassment?

I hope they get some visual changes happening in console view. I find the low contrast makes it hard to see stuff in the fx bin. I'm waiting on the new Sonar mods to help with Sonar's looks.

There is a feature request for just that a better looking FX contrast and clearer on off status. Its in the feature request forum.

Easy to miss something like that when coming back to an old project/template after some time. I just always start out by assuming that mysterious audio/MIDI routing behavior has a logical explanation and start looking for conditions that could account for the symptoms.
