45?!!! 45 OF the best???
I guess it only goes to show that pretty much any software compressor one can buy will do the trick.

I have a 6 of them - and rarely ever use them. This is all I need. Or when I worked in Sonar: Is Sonitus still included, by the way?

I'm just amazed that so many software compressors can survive in such a crowded marketplace. It's not like they're all that different from one another.

45? For one entry they list 3 NI compressors that makes 47. Then they list one of the compressors again (take away 1). That makes 46 compressors..

Semi-terrible straw man argument as a Pro Engineer/Producer would require a USB stick to make travel with his Waves plugs the easiest method to work under. I know, my argument is a semi-terrible straw man argument too. But I get another post out of it.

That's because they are the magic elixir that everybody thinks they need. Always looking for the elusive compressor that adds that magic pop, glue, softening, etc. A marketing guy's dream-come-true.

I put the list through a compressor and it's now only 15. I then put it through another and it was 20. Another made it 10 and another 25 and another was 5. All the lists had their merits, so it depends what kind of list you're looking for.
Hope that helps!

I really expected some push-back from my statement that "it's not like they're all that different", but nobody took the bait. Just Mike's response, and that was to agree with me. Imagine what would happen if I made such a claim on KVR...
