Recording VST instrument in real time?

In the new program, am I to understand that if I have a VST instrument - I can put it in record mode and it will record to the track it is on?

THANKS.

Yep- it is part of what is now known as split tracks:

not sure how often I'll be using it but I have tested it and it's pretty cool

Well no, I don't think so, but, it's all in the wording (in bold/italics) You create another audio track and assign it's input from your Synth, then you can record you synth output in real time to the created audio track you created and assigned the input before.

It's a good feature to have, been available in other DAW's for a long time.

Actually, that's not a correct response - you can do what the op wants. With an instrument, just record-enable the instrument audio track and you're good to go. Of course, you can also create a separate track or tracks if you prefer, and/or record into that or them too.

Where this really comes in handy is instruments with multiple outputs.
