upgrade pricing policy

Sonarians,

Jrr-shop is now offering sonar crossgrade from sonar professional OR studio (studio x3 right) to platinum for 100.99 usd (with more reduction in cart ),
i payed 99 usd for going from studio x3 to professional (current version) in January when they introduced new lineup , so if
i want platinum upgrade now i have to cough up another 100 while an existing x3 studio user now can jump from x3 studio straight to platinum (current version) for less than 100
and this while only 9 months have passed since introduction??? ,  is this is the case this sure is not an incentive policy for existing upgraders and not very fair??

If propellerhead can so can cakewalk  , nowhere you will be able to buy an reason upgrade at a price that is lower by about
3 percent of what they charge at official site. What do cakewalk think when a retailer gives 50 percent reduction
in 9 months ,,,?? beyond their control   ,??

I believe it's against the law in the USA. I'm from Australia and it's certainly against the law for a manufacturer or wholesaler to set a retail price. They can only set the price at which they sell it not what someone else sells it for.

You buy something for 500$ and after that it became 250$ on sale, and everybody else can buy it for 250$, do you think it is unfair? There is the way to avoid it - never buy for the full price. But in your case you have advantage - you use your Sonar Professional for 9 months already, and in the other case you would wait this 9 months for the sale.

I didn't see to much difference between  x3 studio and professional anyway so i think you are right , cakewalk is o.k.
with it so all i can say is lesson learned from my side , looks like they're desperate to get new users this way
but at least they could soften the blow by offering some  extra's to existing  early adopters (come on 9 months!)  .

Well, they offer some extras, some bonuses to account that you will not have if you buy later. The last was "Advanced Workshop: Modern Drum Production in SONAR" video, as I can understand. I don't know why they stopped adding such things after that.
