Ipswich problem: recording synths for multi-out synths not recording all tracks

I just tried to record synths using 2 templates of mine for multi-out drum VSTs using Kontakt 5 and AD2.

Both show the same problem: When you record, all waveform previews are drawn, showing recording happening for all Sonar tracks fed by the drum VST. However, when pushing stop, recordings for 2 tracks disappear i.e. they are not in Sonar and not in project audio folder.

I could reproduce this with a new project using AD2 (kick and snare tracks missing) and K5 (mono room and mono OH missing), but could not figure out what is causing this. I have created 2 really small projects and uploaded them to my dropbox:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/1nrisejsapywhb3/synth_record_AD2.zip?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/vlxv0tvrey10l73/synth_record_K5.zip?dl=0

If anyone could try and see if the same tracks go missing ... or better - if there's something wrong with the setup coming from the template, I'd highly appreciate it as this is a feature I have long waited for ...

Thanks to everyone in advance.

Rob

I just tried with a smaller 8-out setup from scratch using Kontakt 5 and a new setup for AD2; both new projects did not have this problem.

However, in the troublemaker projects from the previous post I could not fix the issue despite changing anything in the routing that can be changed (e.g. I can record tom 1 to the snare track in AD2 but when I change it back to snare the recorded waveforms + file disappear when pushing stop).

It appears that this problem originates from using a template (of which I have dozens that I want to keep using!). Here are links to the templates themselves:

I will look into this next week. Thanks for providing a sample.
Do any of the synth audio tracks in your template share (reuse) the same synth audio output ports?

The same with AD2 Template Project provided by Cakewalk. All tracks record except Kick and Snare tracks. Maybe it is somehow deals with mono tracks, because if I change them to stereo, it become recording, but next 2 mono tracks stop recording.

    Thanks for your reply, Noel.

There is no reuse of synth output ports - it's an "exclusive 1 on 1" mapping i.e. one synth output feeds one Sonar track.

    I did some more tests:
    • Deleting the problematic audio tracks, creating new ones, reassign routing does not help (identical behavior), so it does not look like corruption of settings ...
    • 14 tracks are recorded in the background (i.e. I can see them in the audio directory), but when hitting stop, tracks are renamed to fit track names, and here's where the 2 of them disappear ...

Noel, has anyone from Cakewalk found time to review this issue?
I just checked the latest Ipswich build and it's still same behavior on my end ...
