How long will a upgrade redemption code last?

At the end of June I received an email that said June 30 was my last chance to upgrade from any Producer version to Platinum for $149 so at the last minute I bought a redemption code from one of the third party vendors. On July 1st I got an email that said I had a new last chance to buy it before the end of that month for $149. It may have actually been my last chance to buy it for $149 because in August I got an email that said the same upgrade only cost $119. At the end of August I got an email that said it was my last chance to buy the upgrade for $119. Yesterday I received a message about the latest last chance to buy the upgrade for $119, but I have not yet redeemed the $149 upgrade I bought on the last day of my first last chance. There seems to be so many last chances that I am getting confused. I better ask while I have the chance; how long do I have before it's my last last chance to use the redemption code I bought and have saved since last June? Will the redemption code last until I am ready to use it or is there a time limit?

Why don't you try and redeem the code?  It will either work or it won't -- in which case you need to call the vendor.

This seems the simplest solution.  There really is no reason to keep putting it off.  There's no rule that says you have to install the software right away.

There is an obvious reason given the new membership model. If you are really happy with X3, but you want to keep your foot in the door in the event that a new update will have some killer feature sometime in the future that will make you want to switch, buying an upgrade now at a good price would let you register and get on board in the future, without having to spend money keeping current with a bunch of updates you do not want. From that point on, you will have a year of updates, while early adopters will have run out of their first year payment and have to pay more for another year. That will only work if the upgrade you buy now does not spoil before you get to decide to use it. Cakewalk store will start you membership clock on the purchase date. But a distributor authorization presumably does not start the countdown until you register it with Cakewalk.

    Jonnie,
I purchased my "upgrade" in January, redeemed it in August. There did not appear to be a time limit on the redemption code.

John, I don't think you understood the issue.

Only Cakewalk can answer that question. This is a peer to peer forum so we can only answer based on experience which is what John did.

    What didn't I understand?
I purchased from a third party vendor in January, when CW said the price was "introductory".
I did not redeem the code and install until August, when I felt enough time/testing was done.
There did not appear to be a time limit on the code, as to when I started my "subscription".
If you purchase directly from CW, I don't think you can wait.
