Windows 10, Sonar Platinum, Windows Exploer and Auto-Hide Taskbar Problem

This problem started when I upgraded to Windows 10 x64.  I have the taskbar set to auto hide, and it works fine on every program except Sonar.  When I launch Sonar, the taskbar will not hide until I open task manager and restart Windows Explorer.  Then it seems to be fine.  Has anyone else had this issue and figured out how to fix it without having to restart Windows Explorer?  This didn't happen under Windows 8.1.   Sonar is run as administrator, but Windows 10 is not.   Could it have anything to do with permissions?

Full screen mode covers the task bar, but then how do I access it if I need it?  Do I need to go into and out of full screen mode every time I need to access the task bar?  There must be a reason why this is different under Windows 10.

    Hi:)

I have had this problem and I still have it sometimes on the second Monitor. Then I have to click on Properties and press Enter, and it's gone.

On the first Monitor with Sonar I can't access the Control Bar, then just press "Win" Button and there it is.

    Try:
Sorry, but I can only see it in German, click on Desktop and then "Ansicht" -> "Symbole am Raster ausrichten" (snap to grid) and disable that. That helped me a bit!

I have this now and then with Sonar Platinum and with Studio One Pro, most of the time not, but when it does all I do is minimize the program and then restore and is fine again. As I say only now and then, and not only on DAW PC, also it can be my laptop and Firefox, same thing fixes this for me.

*** Sorry my mind is blank and I did not read so well. Above was what happens now and then when the auto hidden bar doesn't come up. I also have had the issue spoken about here where it doesn't go down but even less rare and not just Sonar Platinum. I can not remember what I did for it because it is only very rare. Also Windows 10 yes.

I have this problem exactly as you describe. Using SONAR full screen is only a partial solution. I haven't found a solution, but I am curious to know whether you (like me) are using Intel on-chip graphics with the Intel driver.

Yes, this is on a laptop with an Intel HD4000 graphics chip.  I have the latest available drivers installed.  I haven't installed Windows 10 on my main DAW, which is still running Windows 7.  I was seeing how things work on the laptop before making changes to my recording rig.

I tried disabling snap to grid, pressing the Windows key, and minimizing and restoring the Sonar window, and none of these work for me.  It appears that when Sonar launches, something is making Windows Explorer hang.  Once it is restarted, the taskbar auto-hides as it should.  It's strange that it didn't happen under Windows 8.1.

I'm not sure if this is a permanent fix or not, but I was trying different settings in the properties dialog that comes up when you right click on the clock at the right of the Windows taskbar.  I had turned off App Notifications previously.  I turned it back on, then turned off notifications from all the Windows related apps like "Get Office, etc", but turned on all the others, and now the taskbar hides as it should when using Sonar.
