I saw it at Audio Deluxe for about $6 cheaper. ($79.95 and $149.95+ discount)and I wonder what JRR Shop will have it for.

Usually a few pennies cheaper at JRR with the GROUP code...

PluginDiscounts usually has the lowest prices on XLN...but not always...

I have to ask myself why one of these companies hasn't developed a
"Trigger" plugin that will work with ANY existing Drum Program you have...
instead of having to use "built in kits"...

Seems highly feasible and would be quite the lucrative market...

Just use the drum audio as a MIDI generator and controller, select the appropriate mapping,  and send that to the track to trigger the Drums...

Too bad I'm not a Developer...would be a good proposal for new software I think...

Haven't been there, yet. Thanks.  I'll have to check them out.
I'm wondering if I'll use these that much. I haven't done anything with live/real drums in a long time, but
maybe that can/will change.

The DS-10 Shaper could be handy. I suppose if I look at all the drum programs I have, I could "route" them all back to
AD2 and keep my drum tracks more consistent. Hmmmm.....

RE Your idea.... It is a good idea. I suppose someone will eventually market that.

What about Sonars drum replacer. You can use other than the provided drum samples with it.

I guess I haven't dug deep enough into it to find out...will have to spend some time
with it...

Just seems kind of "backwards" to have to use "predefined" samples...

The one most effective way, while slightly time comsuming, is to convert the individual tracks
to MIDI with Melodyne and then use that MIDI for the drums to either "replace" or "enhance",
whatever may be required...and nothing additional required in that case..

That's what I was thinking Mike, though I like the idea of being able to replace more than 3 drums. I usually want to do the HiHats, especially.

Perhaps stupid question, but does this not do much the same / similar to Drumagog and Trigger from Slate and even a bit like the Cakewalk version- if so how is it the world's first??? Just asking

Their claim is that it's the first "intelligent" one,  though that may need to be determined. LOL

So, do we interrogate each one to determine which is the most intelligent........or perhaps set them a test and see which one gets the most answers correct

I'm trying to figure out why these would even be necessary unless it is for recording.  Last I heard many layer drum tracks.

Well, if you have old projects with "lesser" drum tracks that you'd like to update or enhance.....

Re: XLN Trigger and DS-10 Drum Shaper 2015/10/01 17:44:07 (permalink)
I thought it was a shameful outrage for their add to be claiming to be the, "first" intelligent drum replacer.

It may well be that it's currently the, "most" intelligent, but it seems to be suggesting that its rivals (and there are a few) we're just plain stoopid

Drum replacers are only useful if your drum tracks are old recordings of "real" drums in audio only format.
If they're just old projects that have an accompanying midi track then there's no need for a drum replacer.
