Seeing the Scorpions tonight in Colorado!

One of my biggest concert regrets of the 80s is not seeing the Scorpions. I told my son over a year ago if they went back on tour we'd go see them. Shortly after that they announced their 50th anniversary tour and I've been waiting ever since! I'm picking my son up from school at noon today and catching a plane to Colorado for some father/son bonding time seeing an awesome band.

I can't wait!!!! :)

Very nice SSF!!! In high school, we used to do a lot of Scorpions tunes. Are all the original members in this tour?

Hopefully, they will Rock you like a hurricane!!

    Hi,

NP: Fly to the Rainbow - from "Fly to the Rainbow".
NP: (right after) Apocalyptic Bore - Amon Duul 2 from "Vive La Trance" ... notice that Scorpions next album was called "En Trance" ...

The last time I saw them a friend called and said he had tickets (Irvine Amphitheater) but wasn't sure where.  So I brought strong binoculars.  Turns out his tickets were the very first row above the pit and in the middle which made my binoculars only good for seeing if the guitarist had dirt under his nails!  Great show.

Officially, the original members haven't played together since sometimes in 1967 I think...

But the core trio of R. Schenker, Jabs and Meine has endured since the late 70's.

With 11 drummers throughout the history, I suppose that they're second only to Spinal Tap.

OMG the Scorpions were freaking amazing. Such great songs and incredible chops. All of those guys are top notch musicians and they totally brought it. We were right up front and were worried about the mains, but it sounded so dang good we neglected to put in our earplugs.

Also, I forgot that Queensryche was the opener, and they were fantastic as well. What a great night - something I hope my son remembers long after I'm gone! :)
