Snap to marks/clip question

Hello,

I am having trouble with "snap to marks" then selecting "clips" to help perfectly line up one clip against another.  I know it is supposed to work only on visible marks.  It never seems to quite work.  It will usually seem to snap fine, but if you zoom very close in there is a slight break or slight overlap.  This can create various problems depending on what you are trying to to.

Is anyone else having this problem?  Not sure if its is a bug, user error, or something specific to my system.

And for some reason it sometimes seems to work fine, and then other times not.  it is in a way consistent - if it works correctly it will continue to do so for at least a few times in a row. It then seems something happens and it starts misbehaving, at which point it continues to do misbehave.  I have no idea what triggers this.  Hopefully simple user error and someone can explain what I am doing wrong.

    Thanks

Any chance it could be Smart Grid?

"When Smart Grid is selected, the snap resolution is dynamically determined by the horizontal zoom level, and the M:B:T time rulers in the Clips pane and Piano Roll view are optimized to show relevant snap locations."     IOW, the snap value gets smaller as you zoom in.

Good idea. I did have smart grid on and it appears to be a factor.   I think it is a bug perhaps related to how the smart grid "sees" marks as you zoom in and out.  I found that if the bug appears, I can toggle snap off and then on and it seems to fix it.  Initial testing with smart grid off seems to avoid the problem.  Thanks!
