Sonar X3 crashing and Padshop
My Sonar X3 Studio (on e update) is all working fine, apart from one very annoying thing. I can add Padshop into a project, I can use it but when I close and reopen the project Sonar crashes. I know it is Padshop that is crashing it, but cant figure out why, I have the same problem whether using VST2 or 3, and I have gone through a re-install of padshop Any ideas?

I have Padshop and have never had any problems. Are you sure it's not the Steinburg dongle, not Padshop? I don't know that it is. I'm just trying to help you get moving again cuz it has to be something. I hope you find the problem soon.

I dont have a Steinberg dongle. The thing I dont get is that I can load padshop and use it fine, but then when Sonar reopens and scans the plugins it crashes after trying to load padshop, its driving me insane

Have you tried a Reset and a FULL Rescan of your plugins? That has fixed a lot of plugin problems for a lot of folks. I have done it a couple of times on one of my computers, and I have close to 1000 plugins, and it doesn't take too long. It was also recommended that folks DO the above. Bob Bone

hmm, ok thanks, tried that and got the error message "Padshop Main Call" and it asked me to disable the plugin. There is obviously some problem with Padshop

Make sure you've installed the latest copy of the eLicenser software. It sounds like this issue might relate to the copy protection. (On a similar note if you use iLok, always check for the latest update...then cross your fingers and look for a four-leaf clover prior to installation.) I use PadShop (a delightful synth IMHO) in SONAR without problems.

thanks for all the suggestions so far, nothing seems to be fixing though. I have re-instaled padshop, checked the licence etc but when I try and reset the plugins I get Error Main Call for padshop.dll and error controller - initialize on the vst3.
