Using OTHER DAWs Virtual Instruments
Hi guys! I have SONAR Plat, and Ableton Live 9 Lite. I was wondering if I could take the instruments of AL9 that are in .adg and use them in Dimension Pro inside of SONAR Plat. If so... How? Simple right? ;)

It's a rare thing but does happen that other daws share their effects and instruments but if it can be done you will need to go into sonars VST scan page and add the fruity loops vst folder and then scan I guess. You should see them briefly if you pay carefully attention to the scan whilst it's running. Steve

I don't know what FL studio has to do with it. Its very unlikely Ableton Live's instruments will work in any other DAW.

pwalpwal rewire
You mean rewire ableton as a plug in within sonar? Good idea as long as the OP knows how to do it. Steve

No but if you're new to sonar or even ableton you may not have the faintest idea what, 'rewire' is. That's why it's always good to explain to some degree, just saying, 'rewire' may mean nothing to a new user. Steve

Is there a video or good source on "rewire 101"?

Thanks! I missed that link! That's one of the nice things about Sonar, There are usually many ways to get things done, and ALWAYS something new to learn.

Yeah, Ableton .adg seems to be an exclusive file type. Still, would be nice. I'll keep on dreaming ;)

Here's an article on ReWire basics that keeps it pretty simple. FWIW prior to Matrix View I used to ReWire Ableton Live into SONAR all the time and it worked just fine.

I've gotta go with pwalpwal on this one...with the addition that questioners be taught questions, not given answers. That's what I did with my engineers back in the day (you know, back when I had to work for a living). Whenever one came into my office with a problem, I first tried to determine what they'd already tried. If they'd tried nothing, I sent them packing. If they'd been trying, but failing, I'd work through the problem with them, teaching questions to ask (the logic behind troubleshooting), but giving no answers. My experience is that peeps need to work through things to learn. Teach them to fish; don't give them a fish.

I have a problem with rewire on the sonar platinum demo maybe someone could help me out. Have windows 10 64 bit newly installed so I'm not sure if the rewire protocol for windows 10 is the problem. But this is what is happening: Using reason 8.1 as the rewire device but when I press a key on the midi keyboard there's a good 750ms+ delay for what I'm pressing is this just because it is a demo or do others experience the same problem. Tried changing the sync settings in reasons preference's but there's still a massive delay. The midi is sync'd when using reason and sonar stand alone.
