Windows 10's device manager and the installation of audio interfaces

Hi, guys,

I'm having a problem trying to install the Win 10 drivers for my Line 6 Guitar Port audio interface on my notebook. All the process of uninstalling & reinstalling I've already done, in several ways, including reinstalling after deleting all Line6 entries in the registry, to no avail. Note that the driver is recognized by Win 10 and the native players work through the Guitar Port. The main problem is that none of my recording softwares detect the interface.

Something tells me that the problem resides in the way the driver is being installed. The device manager in Windows 10 has 2 more lines that didn't exist in Windows 7 (Software devices and Audio input and output). In these 2 lines (printscreen of my device manager attached) I can see that Windows 10 installed a generic driver, but in "Sound, video and game controllers", the driver is correct from Line 6. I cannot get windows to change the drivers in those new lines, I've already tried to force it but, also, no success...  I think that this is generating the conflicts, since Windows can detect the Guitar Port, only my recording softwares cannot. I've already tried to deativate those lines but windows reinstalls it again and again with generic drivers. Do you have any ideas of how to solve this in Windows 10?

It will be tomorrow PM before I can look but my UX-2 works fine with ASIO and W-10. For now make sure you don't have ASIO4ALL installed. Use the Monkey to update your drivers.
I'll check back tomorrow. Maybe someone else will have more.

Is the default device in Windows Sound card properties the Guitar Port? Check properties there that the device is not set to exclusive mode. You might want to try setting another device as default to check as well. I am not sure how Win10 handles either of these compared to Win7.

    Hi, Mettelus,

Yes, it's the dafault but, later, I'll check if it's set to exclusive mode, if it is, I'll change that and see what happens.

    Thanks!
