Addictive Drums 2......"Separate Out" vs "Separate Out + Master"

Hi team
My apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere, but I haven't been able to find the answer I'm afraid! I would like to clear up something please in regards to 'Separate Out' VS 'Separate Out + Master'.

So if I have, for argument's sake, a kick drum only soloed in the AD2 GUI and the this kick is routed direct to 'Separate Out', then:
(a) the kick drum soft synth/audio track in Sonar should be the only signal   (is this correct???)

And if I then have the kick drum only soloed in the AD2 GUI and it's routed to 'Separate Out + Master', then:
(a) the kick drum soft synth/audio track in Sonar should be receiving a signal, AND,
(b) the master (L&R) soft synth/audio tracks in channels in Sonar should also receive a signal

Hopefully I'm kind of accurate thus far....my question is, what is being sent to the Master L&R?? Is it the effects return only of whatever the Kick has 'sent' to the FX (Dlerbs or whatever they're called)??

I'm a little confused as to what I should send to Sonar.....almost at the point where I'm thinking I might just send as all 'Separate Out' only mono (except for OH & Room) and ignore the BUS and MASTER channels in AD2!! Anyone else have any thoughts.

Thanks for help in advance :-)
Bob

That's pretty much my understanding Bob. Separate out 'left/mono' gives me the kick without the FX. Separate Out + Master gives me the kick and OH's/Room going through AD2, which when routed to a bus/or master will have all drum sounds. Whereas, just the separate will contain just the raw untreated kick. Mind you even if you just have the kick out separate and the drum lane is muted in AD2, you'll still get kick sounds coming through the FX channels, unless you reduce the OH's/Room in the drum edit section.

Yeah that's because AD is emulating how a real kit is miced, on the kick itself you have two mics that you can blend to taste. Then you have the OH mics and the room mics that also will pick up some of the sound. The master then mixes all the signals.
I suggest you go the separate out route leaving the master out or you use the master out only. Note that you can send OH and room to separate outs too if you chose that route.
